The Quitman Lions Club has a total of 12 members.
We are proud to be the home club of 3 former district governors, and a past council chairperson, along with three recipients of the Melvin Jones
Fellowship award, 2 of which are "progressive" meaning that the recipient has had more than one presented to them . We welcome all visitors and hope to make our "visitors"
our "new members". We have a quality club that provides the perfect
blend of "small club" fellowship and "big club" energy. We have a
down-to-earth attitude in helping the community and are always trying to
expand our horizons in order to help others. We have several fund-raisers
- a Sponsored Calendar program (our major project) and various other chili
suppers, spaghetti suppers, etc. After expenses we use 100% of the
proceeds of any fund raiser to: Give as many free eyeglasses and
eye exams as our funds will allow; Give out fruit baskets to the elderly
at Christmas; Give a $500 scholarship to a Quitman High School senior;
and donate to the four main Lions projects. Come visit us at our
next meeting.
